Detona 💣

A Minesweeper variant with dynamic mechanics, power-ups, and a countdown system built with PixiJS. The Project is still in progress.

How to Play

  • Left click — Reveal a cell
  • Right click — Toggle flag
  • Middle click — Use Insight (if available)
  • Left click on numbered cell — Chord reveal (when adjacent mines are fully flagged)
  • Click the emoji — Reset the game

Mechanics

  • Mines
    • 💣 Mine - Classic mine. Hit one and it's game over.
    • 🚀 Moving Mine - Relocates to a new hidden cell after each move.
    • 🌀 Distortion Mine - Not a real mine — triggers a 30s countdown and confuses nearby cells.
  • Power-ups
    • 🛡️ Shield - Absorbs one mine hit. Grants +15s during countdown.
    • 🧲 Magnetic Pulse - Scans 3×3 area on your next click, pins a hidden mine in place. Pauses countdown.
    • 👁️ Insight - Middle-click to peek at a cell: auto-flags mines, reveals safe cells. Adds +1 random mine per use.
  • Special Zones
    • Confused Cell - Created by distortion explosions. Correct moves here grant +5s instead of +3s.
    • 🧬 Mutation Zone - Appears after 15 moves. Numbers show safe neighbor count instead of mine count. Grows every 5 moves.

Countdown Timer ⏳

Activated when a distortion mine is triggered. A 30-second countdown begins. Actions and powerups will has some pros and cons during the Countdown.

Nomad Mode

  • Reveal: You can only directly reveal nearby cells around your current position.
  • Movement: You can move across revealed cells; pathfinding uses shortest valid routes.
  • Stamina: Regular movement consumes stamina; hitting zero ends the run.
  • Trail: Recent visited cells are stored and can be retraced at no stamina cost.
  • Teleport: Limited charges, revealed-cells only, also usable from minimap.
  • Tunnel: Linked portals provide instant travel and reset path pressure.
  • Fog: Cells farther from the avatar fade, focusing attention locally.
  • Zone: Mutation/Fuzzy effects modify how information is read, increasing uncertainty.
